On the 6th of November 2013 the conference "Painting and Protection against corrosion for railway rolling stock" promoted by EOS was held with the collaboration of the the Italian Institute of Welding and UCIF and with the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, of RFI (Italian Railway Network), AICQ (Italian association for the culture of quality), ASSTRA (Transport Association), CIFI (Italian Board of Railway Engineers) and FederMobilitö.
The Conference focussed on the analysis of the most advanced technical solutions aimed at the effective implementation of the "AICQ Guide Lines" for pre-treating, painting cycles, control plants and instruments aimed at guaranteeing elevated resistance against corrosion on railway rolling stock.
Among the various contributions one of the most appreciated and exhaustive was the one given by Gianfranco Vendramin of Europolveri, who analysed all the aspects related to the protective treatment and painting of railway rolling stock.
Gianfranco Vendramin’s analysis, taking inspiration from the Guide Lines, then focussed on the technical and application aspects of anti-corrosion pre-treatment by means of primers and on the following powder coating cycles of "invisible" and "visible" parts in railway rolling stock. As well as anti-corrosion treatments, the anti-graffiti regulations and powder coating cycles offered by Europolveri were also treated.
The conference was attended by a considerable number of participants coming from diversified professional and industrial fields: engineers, designers, public and private customers, rolling stock manufacturers and producers of furnishings and internal components for railway rolling stock.
